M You have filed your taxes and will soon know what you owe, or might get back. How cheerful are you about that? Render to Caesar. Pay what you owe. Christ followers do that. We are not required to do so cheerfully, but fairly. Just do it.
V Giving to God’s kingdom is different. II Corinthians 8: 12. Give willingly. II Corinthians 9: 7 Give cheerfully. Purpose what you will give in your heart, not with a grudge, not out of obligation, but because you cheerfully desire to promote God’s Kingdom and in gratitude to Christ.
M Tax time reminds us that our government, its policies are temporary and flawed. God’s Kingdom is permanent, perfect, and forever.
