Firing your advisor

I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M I don’t apologize for focusing on widows on occasion. There will be 1 million more of us this year and finances are one of our big concerns. My friend Kathleen Rehl’s research shows that 70% of widows fire their advisors after their spouse dies.
V Good advice, wise council may or may not happen. Many widows were not connected with the couples advisors before widowhood. Working with a financial advisor may help, but only if that advisor listens to the needs and realities of that person, and acts in her best interests. Unbiased, honest, relevant competence is what she wants.
