Use cash

I’m Miriam  Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money

M Spending using cash is old fashion. Old fashioned but smart. If you have that old time favorite–the change jar– taking out, counting out, focuses you on what you are buying and why.

V Businesses estimate an increase in spending when a debt or credit card is used.  Somehow that swipe just does not feel like you are parting with anything (until you get the bill). In our household, we put our credit cards in a drawer at times.  It takes a joint decision of both spouses to take out that card and use it.

M Remember too, small changes implemented over a long period of time add to big savings.
